This module teaches you how to prepare for, set up, and obtain non-routine radiographic projections of the chest, bony thorax, upper airway/soft tissue of the neck, upper extremities and shoulder girdle. Including both practice and test modes, the online simulator offers six different patient scenarios, allowing you to learn and rehearse the procedures, then test your skills. The module offers students and practitioners the knowledge, cognitive skills and a safe practice environment to perform these radiographic procedures accurately and with confidence in preparation for working with real patients and X-ray equipment. This module is ideal if you are studying for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists® (ARRT) registry exams.
You’ll learn
- to practice, perfect and test your skills in obtaining non-routine projections of the chest, bony thorax, upper airway/soft tissue of the neck, upper extremities and shoulder girdle
- to better visualize and understand the anatomy of the chest, bony thorax and soft tissue of the neck with our 3D anatomical model
- to identify common indications for non-routine projections of the chest, bony thorax, upper airway/soft tissue of the neck, upper extremities and shoulder girdle, and common pathology encountered
- how to manage the requirements of trauma and pediatric patients requiring any of these non-routine projections
- how to position a patient to obtain optimal images when performing these non-routine projections
- much more (see “content details” for more specific information)
